@ 1nga you clearly are an idiot.
The problem is not the hard workers in Global Ops or all of Corp for that matter, but the SEBs that put the structure and bureaucracy in place. The workers are only following the rules that are dictated. Let's hold the right people accountable and not layoff the talented workers that GE needs to be successful. Heard 60 people let go in Cinci. How many EBs and above were among them?
Businesses believe their requests are always right and perfectly justified because they are special and have the most important need ever and Corporate/Global ops are told to look at the company as a whole and not think each request is special. Leads to automatic tension and bickering and jerkish comments like " they deserve to lose their jobs".
Maybe we should all acknowledge we are all doing what leadership is asking us to do in our bubbles and that is the problem?
At the end of the day the wrong people are getting the boot from the businesses or from corporate.
Global ops don't do jack s---. Better off without them.
I feel bad for the Global Ops people but many of them deserve to be cut. It's damn near impossible to get anything done if you're at an actual business. They'll find any reason why they're unable to do what's requested.

I see from one of the older posts that GE Corp is indeed cutting some people in Boston. As you know GE promised jobs for tax relief to move Corporate there. Oh, well Boston; welcome the same ole story that other states and cities face with GE and their false promises. Corporate should be no different. As a shareholder the GE leadership cuts need to start with them and their lavish lifestyles. Don't buy into their crap. Per recent announcement I hear the 7 series BMW's , Porsche, 500 series Mercedes, Range Rovers, and Jaguars will have to be paid by themselves as John cut the company car allowance. Crap if you make over $275K as a jr. VP , do you think you can buy your own car? The stock price have been sh_t for 17 years ...wake the F_ck up!

No idea if execs were cut but a good chunk of people in Cincinnati Global Ops, Norwalk, and the marketing group in NY all were notified on Tuesday.
I am in Corp and I have not heard anything recently (including today).
I'll post updates here if I hear anything, it's been quiet for now.
I am hearing early 2018 cuts, but you never know, they are always secretive about it and we'll know probably on the same day when it starts to happen.
