Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Airline Solutions and Hospitality on the block

Sabre is looking to sell off both the Airline Solutions and Hospitality businesses.

Unfortunately they haven't learnt from the past and are going to Sell Low / Buy High as has been done in the past. Both businesses are not doing well at this time and it is absolutely the worst time to sell them, but it is going to happen.

Good Luck to everybody at Sabre

Ask yourself why development that was centralized has been moved back into the BU silos despite that eliminating any realistic potential for cross-BU cost saving synergies. Is it easier to spin off a BU silo when it's self contained?

Pure Crap? That's what everyone was saying when selling off Travelocity. Although AS is core, doesn't seem that unrealistic to sell off SHS does it? Remember seeing the financial consultants looming around (in off the beaten path meeting rooms) and everyone was in denial.

Keep an ear to the ground and be realistic.

You can tell a lot just by looking at the presidents of AS and SHS. President of AS is a software engineer who does NOT have ANY airline experience. And, the president of SHS is a consultant who does NOT have ANY hospitality experience.

Yes, this makes sense. Our new CEO has been in the office for 10 months, his approvals is below 30%. What has he done? It is clear he plans more layoff and selling Airline Solutions and Hospitality Solutions. Travel network is fine for now, but Google entered in GDS area-it will crash 50 years old GDS based businesses...

AS is not Sabre bread and butter it is TN, the age old GDS business. That is pretty much the only reason Sabre has not gone under yet.

SHS is tanking fast. Why do you think AA left the company after being promoted to EVP just last year ?

Wouldn't surprise me if SHS is sold off in the near future.

I don't think so. It looks like they are trying to fix everything. If they sell it it will be in no lees than 2 years from now.

If SHS is not on the block this time, give it a year or so... all the jokers from CSS Engineering and Delivery are now running Hospitality. A certain SVP (ex-CSS VP) and his favorite engineering leader, AK (an ex-AS Director). Can't believe a nincompoop like him is running Engineering...such a liar and a brown noser.

Sale or not, this place is doomed.

Pj was proud of certain AV areas. Might be possible for a cash generator to be sold for a spike in share value. Execs will short sell and run if that happens.

By AS the person means AC and parts of AV. I have heard the same and if you have eyes look around the CC3 office for people you don't recognize.
