Transparency should be maintained while giving DPM ratings and promoting people . WE don't see this in many of the teams in Bangalore office . we see lot of favoritism while promoting employees . DFW leadership team should interfere and make sure that qualified and technically sound people gets promoted rather than the candidates who go behind managers .

My useless manager is BFF with my useless VP. Why bother? They will only recognize party people who drink with them and not hard working individuals who can make a difference. Been trying to get another position for a year now, nothing opens up here, so I have to deal with it and hope I am lucky to be chosen on October 9th.
Since I joined Sabre I did not feel any motivation of being Engineer. It doesn't feel like industry. It is just a time pass company. All useless people have filled up here. Sabre is rich to pay and dumb to keep these kind of people for years. May be executives were using the incoming money with GDS without need of any engineers, for getting bl--j--.
Same happens in Montevideo... Favoritism... Friends... Even family.... Your achievements are nothing here ... You need smart ppl skills and in some cases nice tits and face.
I am completely agree , as one of the manager in air-center is doing nothing but still he is in team and making a fool to every one in team for his dummy and fake guideline toward database , he never scheduling team meeting or anything related to team . simply he is taking a benefit of sabre.
people who are really hardworking getting laid off because of his dirty politics and fake show off to other leadership

Do you really thing DFW is innocent. The nepotism culture is spread from DFW itself. Like the owner, labors get filled up.
A good example i have seen is a restaurant - someone started a good restaurant with good quality chef and waiters. It became quite popular. Later he sold it. But he sold it to a rich kid of a politician. The kid had lot of friends (actually they are jobless kids and are bad influences). All the time these friends came to the restaurant with the kid (owner) and ate food for free. Started showing attitude towards chef and waiters. Whoever is not bending to them, these friends started feeding bad things about these employees to the kid (owner) and got them fired and they hired poor quality employees who lick their a--. This is how a good restaurant is destroyed.
You can see some resemblance of above example with Sabre :)
The best advice here is to make sure you are documenting all of your accomplishments. Managers may have an idea of what you do, but no one can sell you, like you. Sell you like
you were interviewing for that job. Keep a log of your day to day activities/accomplishments and make sure to even throw in acknowledging your co-workers for their work as well. This is how life should be, regardless of where you are. Sell you; acknowledge others. This keeps us humbled and balanced. Best of luck to you!
Amen!
