Okay, I've got to ask. Where is all this "layoffs are certain in the next two months" coming from? I'm yet to find any concrete info on it, but it keeps popping up all over the place. I thought that the latest round would have made sure we were safe at least for a while. Are these only rumors, or is there something true behind this?

You don't announce that you will allocate over $400 MILLION for corporate restructuring and lay-off costs unless you plan on laying off a lot of people. To the folks below who are claiming there won't be many layoffs, you should know that they have been going on since 2nd week of August, quietly and spread out; many of us are affected and it is reported there will be more.
Look at the numbers and think critically for once all you sheeps. There is NO massive layoffs. only gradual in small numbers. Barely scratch for the giant.

It's a joke. All this talk of massive layoffs is completely unfounded and fake. Yes there has been cuts but those were as expected with the merger.
Dell is not going to cut huge amounts if people.

I think the new company should renamed to Decimal. It's got a combo of Dell, EMC & Digital, and only going to be have a fraction of the people left when done with layoffs (at least in the USA).

The desperation and anxiety one would think it is time to move on. Living in the past is not going to help. Dell is business not your friend. So get over it and get fired/layoff go get another job. Wait there are no jobs maybe but one has to try and take a different path.

There will be no more layoffs at dell emc until the end of 2017. The sales are robust and the dell machine is chugging along. Everybody is safe at least until year end.

I do know that there are a lot of QBRs this week for forecasting business. One might think that if you don't have a strong forecast you might be put in spotlight.
