Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Layoffs happen

I can't tell you how many times I have walked the floor and seen many departments that don't do sh--. The entire groups be sitting at their desk watching Netflix on their phones and streaming Facebook to see what's happening with their buds. The unfortunate truth is these are the positions that do not get cut because they only pay $10-12 he. But the ones that do make a difference get the chopping block. Layoffs tent to always happen on Thursdays at Windstream. Get ready for tomorrow because phase 2 is in full effect. Hell, lay me off. It saves me the trouble in having to quit like I've tried to many times over the past 4 years but get pleaded with to stay and take more punishment.

I stay for the paycheck. I have been here a while, nearly 20 years, and have worked in several departments. This used to be an amazing place to work. It still has a lot of amazing people that work very hard for this company so they can earn a good living to provide for their family. I have seen many people leave to better their career, which is fine, and I have seen many people get layed off that were hard workers. Some of these groups, like local dispatchers, were layed off to be replaced by a centralized planner, which was the start of the lack of customer service with customers.

I wish the very best to anyone affected by these layoffs. I hope that they keep their head high and that they are able to take these cards that they are dealt and turn them into a decent hand.

I hope our company is not headed down the tube, I hope that it gets better.....I am going to try to remain optomistic.

Good luck to everyone and God speed.
