Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Do we have any news on next week?

Several posters said that the next round of Windstream layoffs will be on August 10, but I have seen little to confirm this. Actually, things seem like they have settled down a bit, to the point where I am thinking that we are done with layoffs, at least for a while. Am I just hoping in vain? Is there info that I am missing?

Project activate was a joke. Tony Thomas is surrounded by 140+ yes men and nobody had the balls to tell him you can't offer free upgrades on broadband when you can't even meet the speeds promised to the customers that have been taking it up the rear for years! What a bunch of idiots.

After working another long day with all the chaos upper management has created ...all I can say is I am totally exhausted ... we have lost so many valuable employees and cannot sustain the unrealistic comments that are made by the upper management...you have destroyed this company!

I was on a call earlier today that led me to believe that the rumors are true. Starting with more layoffs tomorrow and finishing off the plan on next Thursday.

I heard a similar rumor about letting go of the contractors hired for project activate. People were told to immediately discontinue necessary projects associated with activate, which leads me to believe the project failure is true. It was a brilliant customer retention plan, but they decided it was too expensive. Again, mgmt put the cart before the horse promising all they had a solution to our biggest problem. Ironically, for a bunch of accountants, they didn't look at the potential cost to the company. Haha.
