Has anyone heard updates since April or May when they hired Barclays to assist in sale. "The Fayetteville assets, which BHP acquired for $4.75 billion in 2011, had a book value of $919 million at the end of 2016, according to the company's annual accounts. The miner had to write down the assets by $2.8 billion in 2012 due to lower gas prices."

BHP BILLITON announced will sale all shale US assets
Excellent study of Fayetteville. "Kimmeridge 2015 - Deconstructing the Fayetteville". Still no news on progress of BHP Billiton Shale sales.
Reading new guy bio his focus M & A and financial. Way discussed how he/Swn had been working closely with new guy (SWN paying his firm Lazard BIG BUCKS) for last few years. Don't know how new guy can sale Fayetteville given economics, backwardated gas price curve, mixed and inconclusive results on Moorefield with high well costs.
New guy will sell Fayetteville. Just look at his background. Why else would we need some new high priced exec in that role? We don't have funds to buy anything.
I am not aware of the assets being sold... while possible / probable that discussions are ongoing
Fayetteville shale is not that attractive an asset generally, but if the price is low enough ; anything makes sense
