Heard Massive Job transfer to SRC
SRC support which had really put down SEGATE in the eye of its customers. SRC tries to showcase to BDC that they are expert, but actually do not have enough POTENTIAL to manage, Still few Engineers are good not all. It is sure that SRC will face some critical issues and then come back saying that its NEW and will ask for time \ excuse. Only good thing about SRC is its COST, which is POSITIVE, other than that nothing is GOOD as I worked with them for more than 8 years. It is not a good decision for MANAGEMENT to move IT tasks to SRC. They should planned WELL.
"Anyone knows about bdc work moving to SRC?" - What a stupid question is that! Don't you know that's how they could layoff bdc staff.
Interesting point about India. Anyone has any inside info why Malaysia was chosen as IT Insourcing center? How many other MNCs that set up their core IT Insourcing in Malaysia rather than India? As In understand it, the Multimedia Super Corridor was a failure, utilized by big names like Microsoft only as marketing but no substantial IT headcounts relocated there over the decades of its existence. Those offices that were set up are merely "shop fronts".
Malaysia works 4 days a week (fifth day, you know). Plus Malaysia is top 7 in world for highest number of public holidays. These are productivity hits that are not considered by merely looking at nominal wage.
If one wants to talk cheap dollar-labor, look westward towards India. Everyone else is.
Why you need to pay any high cost employee/IT centre if you can get a cheap labour cost at SRC. Average of those engineers are be paid USD1.5K-USD2.5K permonth.
Believe all the jobs eventually will go to lower cost center, its a matter of when
Seagate IT is good as gone in SIngapore, look for jobs while we can
