My manager has spoken to me not more than 5 times over the last 3 years. How can this clown be writing my reviews? The only people in my department that get raises are the managers and engineers. I have NEVER seen so much animosity and hatred towards management in ANY of the previous companies I have worked for. Purge ALL management and get people in there that have a soul!!!!!!!!!!!

It ain't performance-related, it's favorism and some imagination that helps in writing the reviews. Nothing much to be serious about those reviews as it's inaccurate anyway.
Remember Seagate pays is sh--, so they are neither getting or promoting the best people. Good people cost good money. You are always dealing with incompetent sociopaths.
I got the sincere comments on the manager. Seriously STX SMT should ask those Technical manager or Technical Senior Manager go for an interview and kick them out if they are not Technically good.
Under a super lousy Technical a-- manager for few years are damn demotivated, Technically weak and can't contribute idea in resolving issue...Wth!!!
I don't know what to say other than take as much unlimited flex time as you can get away with and take a class, spend time on hobbies, your family, etc. Wait till it's your turn to get the severance check.
My manager never even see me since I stepped my foot in Seagate. I don't even know how he looks like ???
In my almost 30 years in this company it's my observation that new managers in the last five years are ill-equipped to......manage. Instead of getting to know you and promote your strengths, they seem to take the lazy way out and hope you can figure things out yourself. They have no problem accepting accolades for your accomplishments or throwing you under the bus if something failed. Come review time, they give the whole group a '3' so they don't have to go out on the limb one way or another.

Totally agree with you. How could the clown write the reviews when his doesn't even know much about what you did at work? What a joke it is!
