This is a heartless company which has no respect or regard for the people and their families who have LIVED SEAGATE for year after year. Why didn't mgmt see the market shift before it was too late? Why is so much we needed too late? It is shameful that peoples contribution is so disregarded and diminished. Very disappointed in the management of a company that used to be awesome and respected. No longer proud of telling people where I work (or worked).

I worked at Seagate for over 30 years, they have been having lay-offs the entire time. It always astonishes me that anyone, especially given Seagate's executive management, would think that any employee matters. The only thing this company cares about is paying exec mgmt exorbitant salaries/stock/whatever and allowing them to live off their expense reports.
No one should ever "live" for a company, 'cuz the company values you about as much as it does the chair you occupy.
Yes I totally agree with that. I have experienced it personally.
Why was Steve respected? What good business decisions did he ever make? Anybody?
He seems to be the expert at making bad decisions.Remember when WD were in the process of buying Sandisk? Steve announced in all the smugness he could muster that WD made huge mistake and it would never work and how it would all go wrong..boy was he wrong.

u got brain or not?
Used to be awesome and respected? Um, not for a large number of us who have known these executives were using short term financial engineering to benefit themselves and did not take necessary strategic moves. Why was Steve respected? What good business decisions did he ever make? Anybody?
