Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Nothing happening in Longmont.

I heard it coming to Longmont in September. Couple of guys 15 -20 yrs of experience left this morning but that is planned long time ago, not part of this lay off

I was cut from one of the IT groups a few years ago. I recall a conversation I had with a Reliability guy who asked me what other manufacturing place I'd go to if I was laid off. I told him that because I work in IT, I can go work for an insurance company, hospital, university, etc, and I don't have to work in manufacturing again.

So that's exactly what I did. I have an IT job again, but it ISN'T in the manufacturing sector.

Any of you IT folks who got the boot should think about this....
