Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Any Good Leaders Warning their People?

Are any of your Leaders being honest about the upcoming Layoff and warning you to be ready just in case? Or are they all telling you that everything is OK? Or not saying single word? I find it funny that we get an email from JS the SVP Product Development claiming we have too many hours in Maintenance.......if we have no approved projects then where do we charge our time? Are they that blind to the problem here?

Several messages here are accurate. As a manager, I have to rank my employees and submit my list. Depending on the number they need to meet, they may take my bottom 1, 2, 5, who knows? I won't know until I'm told who is being let go.

Don't worry, in a couple weeks, we will see a new-hire orientation class starting up.

MVD managers seem to be meeting with HR all week long.

Never never never never never charge anything to the ADMIN PR, only charge billable PRs, and preferably don't charge any time to PTO either (and be available to work during your vacation). All those hours reduce gross profit.

Managers make their lists ranking their people but managers don't know how many they will have to lay off until the last minute because they don't decide the quantity or the departments that will get cut. Those decisions happen up higher in the chain of command.

Oh..... by the way.......

Never never never never never never never never charge anything to the ADMIN PR!

Managers and Directors know the best on what value a resource brings to the table strange if they would not know

Managers don't know a thing until the last possible minute.

Reality is that the details are probably being discussed only at the SVP / VP levels only and will not be shared at the lower levels until the day of the cuts.

Bottomline - Directors and Managers are as clueless as the rest. Possibly VPs also

Anyone heard that all testing/teams functions will be combined? QA, End to End and CVT teams combined and they'll be cut in half apparently. Some managers will even lose jobs.

It's a horrible situation for some to be in. I know of a couple that have given a heads up (though also know a few playing dumb). HR have been awful with how this has played out. We basically know what's going down, they know we know, but we still have to play at happy families and pretend everything is just fine.

My manager in AS was kind enough to give me a heads up a couple weeks ago. Couldn't say for certain but suggested I get my resume and porfolio in order.

Mine is not saying a word but that is typical......the communication is poor to begin with. However I see several PM type folks scrambling for reports and other items......worse than normal. This is very sad.

Not saying a word at all, but the look on their faces.....Some of them are quite sad.
