Currently a younger-ish engineer at NRM. I really do like my job, but wow this is getting ridiculous. Seems like Every 6 months we have more layoffs. Any rumors going around about potential cuts at NRM?

The positive thing about NRM employees getting RIFed is that all the work comes to us in Seagate Springtown,which means more work for us and no lay offs.Every cloud.....

Yes. The latest rumor is all of the folks that worked so hard to launch HAMR will be rewarded handsomely when it sky rockets in a few months.

Have heard 7% ish, but we won't really know till morning. We stopped cutting dead wood years ago.

Advice to young folks that were unlucky enough to land at 3-gate: Get out while you can. There is no future in this company. Zero. Zilch. Start your job hunting while you are employed, and use flex-time to go do interviews.
And yes Virginia, there will be RIF-ing at NRM tomorrow morning. Oh yes indeed.
Been here for 20+ years, what's there to worry? RIF? Just get a job & move on
