Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Final Numbers? Still more to come?

Has anyone heard what the final numbers were for this found in Bartlesville and Houston? I heard 160 in Bartlesville alone and that there were more to come? if so When? However, as we know there are lots of opinions/rumors so I am not sure which one is true. Does anyone on this site know any actual facts without bashing either location.

It is true that COP needs to reduce the number of employees with salary grades 20 & 21. Reduction at this level is coming with restructuring and centralization.

Over 1300 employees going into this and will be less than 1000 by mid-November with more layoffs and retirements to follow in February.

Honest question here, not trying to stir up anything,

We keep hearing about the number of individual contributors being let go, seems like we don't hear much about any managers being walked out? Is that true?

We were told restructuring would begin in December with target to complete in March followed by centralization.

80 includes the people that have to work the transitions. I have to work until October 12th if I want to get severance. I haven't heard of any other rounds. Some people's transition dates end in February. Depends on what group you were in.

Thank you OnC5mT4-3iuv. It sounds like our total numbers are close/similar for now.

Do you know if the number 80 includes the ones who were told they had to stay until October or forfeit their severance? We were also told that their would be additional "restructuring" in

December and February 2018, which is not good. Is anyone else hearing that too?

They received 65 EOI, 50 in bartlesville and 15 in Houston. They laid off 80 people in bartlesville last week, myself included. They told us in June that Bartlesville financial services would lose about 170 total. There have also been some "retirements" (forced).

So did they get enough EOIs to cover the necessary reductions? I heard almost nothing of it last week.

Dumb! It has been all over Tulsa news Bartlesville layoffs were under way last week announced by ConocoPhillips.
