The effects of bad decision making can affect a company for years - long after these decsion makers have moved on, to destroy other companies. Sometimes, their cohorts and sidekicks keep the fire(s) burning - burning it down to the ground. Just like at Juniper, all this nonsense leading to layoffs.
Take a look at the recent announcements. It is clear, whoever iinvolved in this propaganda has no clue, whatsoever about what they are talking about, leave alone any kind of insights or knowledge, about the technology (in this case, cloud). This is the direct result of decision making via google searches. Now, I am sure there still are good Engineers and PLMs left, but they are riding the wave, without ruffling any feathers, because they rather stay under the radar and survive. In fact they are smart to do this. Many have these brilliant scientists have side jobs, startup ambitions and garage projects. Good for them.
Getting back to layoffs, keep this up and we have to start chopping off more than the workforce. Of course the security and switching BUs have been up for sale for a long time, with no buyers. So, making these units attractive means, slimming down. More layoffs. It is a viscous downward cycle, just spinning out of control. I am guessing more layoffs in next two weeks.
