Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Juniper was a technical leader, and is now run down into the ground with incompetence

20 in EMEA? That's just the tip of the iceberg! There are more cuts happening all over in spurts. Mid-level managers, who are standing up for people, are getting booted first. When they get rid of any kind of resistance, the fools at the top can slice and dice at will. Expect a sh-- fest soon.

Since, the 2Q earnings call is on 7/25, in a week, any big cuts should be expected to follow. Rami and the rest of the execs appear to be making no effort to preserve the workforce - Self preservation is the name of the game at the CxO level.

Juniper was a technical leader, and is now run down into the ground with incompetence all around - jdi to marketing & sales. Only services is run efficiently. What a joke. How can we survive, when even Arista is kicking our a--? Seriously! We are F*cked.

Why would Google buy a sh-- pit like Juniper? I would love to see some of those worthless Directors and VPs get walked out the door after such a merger, if that was ever to happen. The problem is Juniper has not delivered any good technologogies in the recent past... no NFV, no Orchestration, no SDN, no IoT. Nothing. Despite all the marketing hype an all the empty promises. Only thing we still have to count on is 10-20 year old routing and switching. Thats it. Even the security solutions are marginal at best. Well, they s---. So, why would Google pick us up? Chances are, there will be layoffs before Juniper is bought or sold, which ever way you look at it. If there was any chance for juniper to get bought by Google, the stock price would at least be crawling up towards $500. No chance in hell.

The Google CTO may bode well for product and solutions, may not save many jobs though, especially in EMEA where numbers are crap. Are there any thoughts on Google buying us out? They did buy Motorola...well sold that off again. Our product line has major holes, some solutions are so immature (SDWAN for example), its laughable...a new Google CTO in this situation almost resonates with Praveen Akkiraju going to Viptela and Viptela being bought out the next week at a discount price by Cisco. Or is that just wishful thinking? Elliott Mgmt has two board members at Juniper.they will push for a sale - products, solution etc. and layoffs to make the company more attractive for an acquisition. Rather get bought out by a Google than by hedge funds who will strip it bare till they have their pound of flesh.

The effects of bad decision making can affect a company for years - long after these decsion makers have moved on, to destroy other companies. Sometimes, their cohorts and sidekicks keep the fire(s) burning - burning it down to the ground. Just like at Juniper, all this nonsense leading to layoffs.

Take a look at the recent announcements. It is clear, whoever iinvolved in this propaganda has no clue, whatsoever about what they are talking about, leave alone any kind of insights or knowledge, about the technology (in this case, cloud). This is the direct result of decision making via google searches. Now, I am sure there still are good Engineers and PLMs left, but they are riding the wave, without ruffling any feathers, because they rather stay under the radar and survive. In fact they are smart to do this. Many have these brilliant scientists have side jobs, startup ambitions and garage projects. Good for them.

Getting back to layoffs, keep this up and we have to start chopping off more than the workforce. Of course the security and switching BUs have been up for sale for a long time, with no buyers. So, making these units attractive means, slimming down. More layoffs. It is a viscous downward cycle, just spinning out of control. I am guessing more layoffs in next two weeks.

What a shame! We have and still had so many smart people, admittedly some have left. We still have a great vision for products and solutions which cannot be fruitful without great people. Why are they sacrificing the company culture, future, product to get rid of good people and keep and promote prime donnas ? Where is the business sense in there?
