When Intel was in its prime, consumers loved us. They got more value for less cost year after year. Shareholders were happy because the company's value kept growing and the stock splits were common. Intel was innovate and not afraid to make a new market when the current ones were getting flat or became commodities.

Then the PC came along, Intel got fat, rich, arrogant and lazy. Leadership and employees realized that options made them rich and started thinking about making their pile bigger. Throw in that the tax changes killed options and made us all employees with no great return regardless of the company's success. Management now are all carpetbaggers trying to get as much before the ship goes down or they get replaced.

People want Intel to fail because it's been arrogant for so long and failed to deliver when Google, TSMC or Apple have taken the lead. No one cares anymore, just like no one cares when P&G announce a new product or McDonalds says it will sell McRibs again. Sad but the Intel ship is going down and the BoD doesn't have the backbone to do what's needed because if you admit that TMG needs to get spun off, then Intel has to compete on design. Brand doesn't matter anymore, so outstanding product design is all we would have, but Apple and Google are building their own in house design capability. No one wants the kind of commonality that x86 created or the cost associated. Intel desperately wants to have the high margin, monopoly world exist again, but it's gone.
