Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

More and more work for same pay

I got out in March 2017. I have nothing bad to say about Avaya. I worked on the Contact Center side. They should have kept the products making money and got rid of the ones that didn't, kind of makes sense to me. I was not laid off, but I was burnt out due to our CC team being reduced by half. I didn't sign up for unpaid 10-12 hour days and I was an outsourced employee. Our Avaya badged employees were working nights and weekends to provide support with the lessened manpower on our teams. The guys that are left are loyal and the best and yes, hope to keep their jobs although the ship is sinking. The job is stressful in the first place, then add angry customers and departing co-workers to the mix piling on extra cases, something has to give...and unfortunately it was me. I wish the remaining crew all the best, I hope they land on their feet when all is said and done. The guy you talk to on the phone, please consider what he/she is going through. They are not responsible for the mismanagement going on above them.

This is very much what my situation looks like now, @O198Rpw-lahv, and I am about ready to throw in the towel. Too much work and long hours with no paid overtime are burning me out quickly, and I know I am not the only one.

Sad to read the heartfelt comments but I too left as I saw the incompetence of the management team doing more damage. Avaya was great, with great solutions, but they didn't move on when they needed to. They also led by the worst management team I have ever worked for so it's disheartening to hear of people going the extra mile for nothing YET the parasites at the top still collect their bonuses. I remember when Chambers just took a $1 when things were bad at Cisco - that was leadership NOT what we have today at Avaya.

If there's no reason to stay, why are you staying?

If you are included in the KEIP payments, sure, that's a great reason to stay. But if you're included in KEIP you're also part of the reason the company is bankrupt, so good for you...

The longer you stay , the longer you are losing to the new joiner in term of $. New joiners smart can get a huge $ and can keep hopping. This is life.
