No wonder Mattel is failing

Just read how Hasbro executive bonus is tied directly to their performance on ROIC, return on investment capital. Hasbro ROIC is currently @ 17% with it's stock @ an all time high while MattHell ROIC is @ 4% with it's stock nearing a all time low. KFARR from the truth was making millions for many many years and left with many more millions while the real workers are hating life.

Still wondering who's gonna be able to do the financial shell game that he used to manipulate at the Q end results.

Hasbro cherry picked, then dumped former mattel employees after they got the info the needed. Most of the NY designers and marketing are being reviewed to come out west if we think they can handle the culture but in truth they're a bunch of entitled whiners who think their crap doesn't stink. rude awakening coming as many get shown the door.

Someone spends too much time dreaming up distractions like TRAC, CAPS and an endless list of acronyms that somebody thinks makes a company great! Seriously. Let people do the jobs they were hired to do...if there is anyone left with an ounce of work-ethic; common-sense. I think the majority of that talent went out the door as the 'old timers' were escorted out one-by-one. Very sad.

The sad truth is that upper mismanagement didn't have to fill out that damn super useless People Leaving MattHell that SBadman let in. What waste of creative time & money that was and still is going there.

I tried telling my useless do nothing Director how bad it was and got the super stink eye for voicing the absolute truth.

I guarantee you Hasbro doesn't have that useless time consuming PLM & TRACS anchor on it's Design team which can actually spend it's time generating creative product but all the real creative talent has already been s---ed out of MattHell so it's a moot point anyway.

What a mess this once great place became, so glad I bounced on my own terms when I did and at least had the satisfaction of actually watching my do nothing non drawing recently promoted VP getting walked out of the DC after doing absolutely nothing for the time he was there and was hired only because he knew RichieW.

agree with the last poster. when long term employees started getting let go a few years ago i thought " times are changing, they've been here a while and didn't fit the mold anymore when it came to PLM & MOA." The reality is there were quite a few that saw things turning for the worst and were vocal about it and started getting flagged with bad reviews, put on PIP and then let go. some of those dissidents could smell a turf a mile away and were punished for it. at the time the VPs & SVPs all made snarky little quips and we thought of it as a cleansing for a better mattel but boy oh boy we're we wrong. i'm not saying all should be brought back. i know most have moved on to better jobs in the industry but this should be a learning lesson moving forward.

I was there for over 30 yrs when the place was a blast to work for and talent really mattered & was actually respected. Once we moved from the old building to the new ES headquarters I noticed that it started to get more and more political and if you weren't a bootlicker you were labeled as a loose cannon with a bad attitude. Year after year it just got worse and worse with countless new VP's getting hired & do nothing Directors & Managers just impending actual progress in useless counter productive approval meetings.

In my last 5 years there I was just doing my job, marking time & planning my exit strategy which worked out quite nicely. After I fled all the real talent and either been whacked or left on their own which is why the place is in the dump it's in. All talentless cliche clowns with the real design talent constantly looking over their shoulders as they get zero credit from thier clueless upper mismanagement.

Just glad I left when I did.

AMEN! I am one of the "real workers" you speak of. I slaved for more than a decade in the MGSSA cell block of Hell. Every year I was given more and more work with maybe a 1.5% raise. The "do it or risk being laid off" threat that always hovered over us. The TRACs were a joke. Nothing more than the greedy creeps at the top's way of holding the proverbial carrot in front of us...a carrot only a rare few would ever be allowed to catch. Every quarter I end I would see orders shoved out the door just to make pretend sales for quota purposes. Months later all A/R would collect were pennies on the dollar. The margin ACTUALLY made was nominal. Years and years of the top dogs raping the company for millions while they booted out all the talent to reduce costs. Forcing Finance and H.R. /P.R. employees to train their Indian replacements to take their job or get no severance. UNBELIEVABLE. There is nothing left, just a few slaves in EA. Never felt so hopeless. Good luck MGO, I too wish you Godspeed.
