If Intel is so bad, how come we had $60 Billion in sales in 2016?

A bit over a billion per week.
$0.3 billion per business day, every single one... or about $0.16 billion per calendar day, every single one...
And yet, it's the end of the world.
@vtv @xiq Boom spot on. We have been unable to match the industry innovation and have failed to do anything except x86. Yes we have treasure and x86 monopoly but you'd be surprised how quick things can fall apart.
When companies spiral to their death, it's like a cone with the small side down. Each rev is faster. Know your history. Look up Motorola or Kodak. They were at their peak. They owned their market. The changes left everyone dazed - what happened?
My friends who worked at blackberry told the same story. Top of the world. Nothing could go wrong.
Intel is not bad. There are simply strong headwinds on the horizon. Question is, if captain knows his job and the crew is in good shape to react fast for changing conditions.
Amazing, company of this size and profits and loses Moore leadership and overtake by Samsung and TSMC.
Tried for so long to get into mobile and failed, tried to create a new CPU architecture and failed. Pretty much failed at anything but x86, but the ARMy is about to put the ultimate can of whoop @$$ on Intel in the next decade. This coming 10years will play out for ARMy like 1990 to 2000 for x86, tipping point has been passed.
A little almost bankrupt company with lifeline funding from Arabs can offer such competitive value on far inferior silicon.
Really makes you wonder the competence of the management and engineering remains at this once largest silicon leader 😂

Whatever, it does not matter either You believe Intel great or horrible, it doesn't change anything. Intel will be same and people will think Intel as what they believe.
Its not revenue, but margin and free cash flow that also counts.
As an investor, the trend is more important than the instantaneous sample of revenue. Intel revenue has only doubled in 16 years +/- 1 year. Thats a revenue growth rate of ~4.5% which, after acquisitions are considered, s---s.
