Indians discriminate against anyone who is not upper caste Hindu or Jain.
We are stupid to play fair and look for talent.
Indian managers find loopholes to reject talented non-Indians. They stuff HR systems with Indian candidates mostly with poor skills but great fake resumes.
I was an H1B at seagate and seagate does not pay cheap to H1Bs. They are paid equal with American counterparts.

I worked on such H1B visa for Maxtor before the lay-off when Seagate purchased Maxtor.
It is a non-immigration visa. So once one looses the position, one has to leave the country within a short time. Your family has to leave as well, and your spouse in not allowed to work on this visa.
With such conditions, I would expect Trump to increase rather than decrease the number of H1B visa: If you loose your job, one does not receive unemployment insurance payments or anything else, even though one paid into the system. One just needs to go home, even though this home already became the US when staying here for up to 6 years. Trump would probably write "We send you back to Mexico, if you loose your job and are on a H1B". So get more H1B , I would suggest to Trump and Co.
What talents does Seagate need? Low cost in India is at work already.
This will definitely turn the HDD industry around. Phew!
Companies ABUSE the intent of the H1B program to hire lower cost engineers to lay off and replace higher cost American workers while falsely claiming no domestic skill talent is available. The regulations for the program are designed to work that way because companies bribe the con artists in congress. Look into it and tell me if I'm wrong.
