Management at Anthem is a joke. Half of them have no idea what they are doing, and the other half will do whatever it takes to make themselves look good at your expanse. Instead of supporting talented workers, they will promote those they know will not be a threat to them down the line, continuing the cycle of incompetent management. Where am I supposed to get help or input from when my manager looks at me like I have grown another head whenever I ask a procedure related question?

Every word of that is true. Management spends all day in an obsessive love fest with ITSELF
Agree management s---s, they don't know the jobs they are suppose to manage but are always telling you how to do your job. The staff are overworked and are constantly told to take on more project, be sure to get them done ASAP, correctly and don't want to hear any concerns on why something can't be accomplished. I was laid off even though there were others with less seniority, knowledge and accomplishments. If you are the bosses favorites you are safe otherwise look out. They definitely like to lay off the more experienced workers to hire lower paying non experienced folks. Glad I got out before this last fiasco.
I agree. The uppers want more done with less errors. I would love to see them do our jobs instead of holding forums and patting each other on the back for doing nothing. In the meantime we are always under the threat of losing our positions. No job security and the only way to get ahead is to be a fave, aka a butt kisser. It's not what you know, it's who you know and how much of a non threat you are to them.
I'm so glad I'm not alone in what i still call HELLPOINT.. As i read your post i thought to myself every last word is exactly what i would have wrote. Even my better half said babe are you sure you didn't write that as he hears me everyday speak word for word everything you said. I am so sick of my knowledge and expertise being wasted. But you are 100% spot on as my manager despises me because i can run circles around her along with do her job. So yes i am a huge threat and why I'm stuck in a position of just a rep I'm told I'm a behavior issue because i stand up for myself and all reps when it comes to what is right and wrong. The micro managing is disgusting and not every manager in the department follow the same rules or handle anything the same. So disfunctional.
Anthem management is a joke and they try to save money by laying off the best workers and hire the non experience or no medical background to screw up what was build when they were WellPoint Inc! My sister and I was laid off and we were the best Leads they could have and we know our stuff and how to trained associates coming in. They have us a severance and hired people for cheap and look at where it got them. As for manangement, a lot of favoritism and butte kissing going on versus knowledge. Sad but that is the truth. I hope they wake up and realize what they are doing and actually lay off employees that aren't doing anything versus those that know their stuff. Good luck!
