Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

An outsider's take

I am a completely outside Target but occasionally enjoy reading the comments made on this website. In fact, I would have to drive about 25 miles to shop at one. Until now I have never commented here and I probably never will again. I truly feel sorry for what's happened to your corporation over the past few years. And I empathize with the thousands of hard working men and women who are doing their absolute best every day to keep it going. IMO it's all due to the poor decisions made by your upper management concerning your bathroom policy. I absolutely cringed when I first heard it and I cringed again when I read BC's explanation to the board about it. His take was to blame it on others, stating the public announcement was made when he was out of town and that once it was made there was nothing he could do about it. If that's true, he should have been fired immediately as well as all those in upper management who were involved in and who supported that decision. That announcement was what started T down the path you find yourself on right now. It seems like no one at HQ realizes that once you get away from the Twin cities, T is just another store among many that consumers have to choose from. There is really nothing unique about it other than overuse of the color red. So, why would an average US consumer choose to spend their money to support a corporation that feels it is just fine to allow perverts, child molesters, rapists and other such vermin into the women's bathroom? I realize that is not the stated policy, but that is how it was interpreted. Didn't they realize that by stating such policy the consumer feels if he/she is seen shopping at T, they are demonstrating support for it? That would be fine for T if a vast majority of shoppers did, but my guess is that opinion is currently shared by less than 1% of the US population. And the nose dive your stock values have taken since that announcement supports it. All the comments on layoffs, restructuring, etc. are just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Absolutely nothing is going to get better for T until there is a complete change at the highest levels of management that can successfully reverse the damage done by your current leadership with hopes of regaining the trust and confidence of the US consumer. And it's not too late for that to happen. But, if it doesn't happen soon I'm afraid you are on a path to die a slow lingering death much like Kmart, Sears and others.

The problem is I did not use foul language or anything like that. It was totally political because they did not like what I had to say. The posts were there at first but mysteriously disappeared when they realized I was right and having an affect on the conversation. Free speech is only allowed when it conforms to the powers that be. (i.e the administrators)

Why bumping an old thread to say this? You could have just started a new one. And to answer your question (if that even was a question), site admins are the ones who delete posts if you violate one of the site rules (insults and foul language in general is not allowed, posting real names and stuff like that, can read it in the footer). And if you do that repeatedly, they block you from further posting. So, nothing to do with politics,

Wow, I am back on again and able to post. You at target should be very concerned that your posts and comments are being deleted if they don't conform with Liberal view. But I don't think that many today are concerned about being censored. It should concern you though because it could be that your liberal views are the ones censored the next time. Someone deleted all of my posts. They were there one day and then gone the next. I was also not able to post. Hope you read it before the words "censorer" attacks again.

It is funny how all of my posts were deleted. It appears that the left only wants to hear posts that agree with them and delete anything that may make the snowflakes melt. Can anyone say socialism? I will try again and see if I am still banned for my opinion.

It's adorable when weakminded people try their hand at concern trolling thinking they're the very first who have ever thought of it.

Nobody cares about your pet wedge issue. We're people dealing with more serious matters than your petulant little political obsession with who goes kaka where.

TGT TMs - let's not take the bait. We have work to do. Let's get back to it.

Listen, people care - but you're posting in the wrong place. The people here are busting their tail trying to keep this place afloat and are in fear of losing their jobs. What is the point of posting here? There are hundreds of posts exactly like yours on Target's facebook and believe me, we are all aware. What do you expect us to do - bust into a board meeting and tell them you're no longer shopping at Target??? Spoiler - they already know.

If customers want to leave because of a political stance that's just fine. People have that right. I personally don't buy Kellogg's anymore after I learned they were giving money to black lives matter groups. I don't talk about it, I don't harass anyone about it, I just quietly stopped buying their products and that's my right. I personally know a few people who stopped going to Target after the bathroom policy and I'm perfectly fine with that. The main point of this is that companies take a huge risk when getting political and I'm not sure Target really thought this through before going public. I'm not sure they thought the Canada disaster through either. Ouch!

Mr/Mrs/Ms "Outsider"

No one, not one person that is here reading this who has anxiety over the possibility of future lay offs or was one of the THOUSANDS laid off from Target gives a care in the world about the "true reason you no longer shop there." Is that insightful enough for you?

Yet another right winger who thinks bathroom policy has anything to do with it. Target's shopping experience s---s for a whole number of reasons (but the bathroom isn't it). You are conflating your person views to everyone. This "outsider" couldn't care less. Almost all my friends actually support the bathroom policy, but even though they are literally all over the world I won't assume they are a representative sampling. Lol.

just so I understand, you are posting a message about your serious moral concerns with people spying/doing things in places they don't belong......by posting in a place that you admittedly don't belong

Know you audience:

Target's Board is not on this forum, just us lowly team members checking to see what if layoffs may be in the air.

Target absolutely took a hit with the bathroom policy. Just look at the numbers since making that public political stance which never ends well with any company who does that. The data breach hurt them even worse. As an employee what concerns me most is it seems like Target's big wigs have no idea what to do about their Amazon problem. Big decision after big decision seem to fail badly for Target while Amazon is taking over everything.

I agree that Target is slowly bleeding out, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the bathroom policy.

More power to you "outsider." I could really care less about bathrooms.

I'm very much more concerned about essentials being instock, produce being fresh and the cool new at Target only children clothes my wife loves, being in stock and in the right size. I go to the red store because the blue one near me is an absolute dump. It's dirty and doesn't carry the before mentioned kids clothes.
