Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Anthem is not what it used to be

If you can, stay away from Anthem. People get laid off on yearly bases, and you are expected to pick up the slack, with no compensation. My caseload keeps increasing, my pay stays the same, and I don't even get paid for overtime, which is necessary if I am to finish what is expected.

Management lacks any and all skills in dealing with employees. Screaming at employees in the office is an everyday occurrence, and most of the times it's the manager's fault in the first place.

I used to enjoy working here, but the environment has become so toxic it's nearly unbearable.

I have to agree with all of the posting that I have read about Anthem laid offs and all of the negative comments. I used to work for Anthem for three years and I reported to leaders that can't spell IT nor have a clear understanding of delivering IT solutions for the business. There is VP over UAT testing and is very clueless about formal testing completely. She believes that you can get any associate to test without having any formal testing background (whether it be system, uat or any formalize testing). Anthem needs to layoff leaders that are stuck in the status quo and can not adjust to change. My heart goes out to those that are still at Anthem and definitely to those who are not skilled nor qualified to hold the position they have and laid off those who qualified to make the changes for the better.

Left 6 months ago, still in touch with few ex-coworkers. Every single one of them is looking for a way out.
