Lots of buzzwords from the get-go. NFV/SDN makes sense for simple upgrade, but the AI pitch remains to be seen.

Intel announced Purley at its July 12t Brooklyn event with very little fanfare and little media coverage.
The lack of excitement in Intel’s latest product offerings sparks questions and even some skepticism among the staunchest of Intel shareholders.
Incremental advances, lack of strategic direction, slow execution on product roadmap or production ramp and competition has deflated optimism on growth/progression.
Furthermore, we’re not certain when another eureka moment will occur at Intel’s R&D department, or whether management will straighten up the culture to be more innovative.
We’ve landed in another Intel dead zone, and we won’t find a splitting of the ocean seas or a miracle announcement to get us out of this quagmire in the next couple years.

Lisa Spelman is no better. Intel can't resist showing wafers but that die size is huge and if Intel can get any yield it will be a miracle. A smattering of applause was a nice touch. I wonder how many people they bribed with a free lunch to attend.
This company is hopeless on message and execution. BK can't demand more from these people because he can't deliver himself. If anyone in Intel PR reads this they need to watch the video and honestly ask themselves if they're proud of the presentation.
Put the teleprompter at eye level, get a cue card boy, or find an Executive VP who knows the script. 60 seconds of watching him looking down is pretty annoying. He's another amateur cast from the mold of the burger king.
I watched the keynote, and Navin Shenoy does not seem like the right guy for this. Whether you like D Bryant or not, she was clearly more comfortable with a live large audience and knew the message without checking slides over and over. Shenroy may have been moved from the minors to the majors too soon. I get he is only 45 days into it, but way too much slide checking, and seems to have no pride or confidence in the message. Maybe stage fright.
Otherwise, I thought the event went pretty well. I viewed a lot of the other recorded content and it is kind of the same old data center stories, but I think the mesh structure message of the new processor line came through. Also having all the partner stories ready to go looked good.
