Yawn, intel is MIA in 10nm, yes they were first to 14 and now TSMC and Samsung have 10nm.
Let's see if intel 10nm is out 3 years ahead of TSMC or Samsung 7nm. The comparison to look for is when intel 10 comes and how ahead of the others 7. Want to bet it ain't three years?
Why is there two more generations of 14nm products. Did someone at Intel forget to wind the clock? Tragic to have three year lead and dedicated fab and infinite money and miss your schedule and lose the lead!
Ashraf is an idiot who knows basically nothing about chip manufacturing. He acted like it's Intel's fault that Moore's Law has come to an end, when practically everyone with a clue about the topic had predicted it to happen around the 10nm node timeframe.
Also, Ashraf doesn't realize that companies like TSMC mean something completely different from Intel when they talk about "10nm".
Yes, Intel is not doing well, other companies are indeed catching up, but that doesn't change the fact that Ashraf is a clueless idiot.
Good that Ashraf and the outside world are taking notice.

Intel is third in this race, until and if 10nm comes out.
Just like they were biggest chip leader and process leader the failures of adaption to the new growth areas and open reflection / admission of what they are good at versus what needed to change and ignoring it all means Humpty Dummy is in mid fall and the crash will be spectacular and nobody is piecing this wreck back together.
BK will be fired amid the debris of the most spectacular tech failure.
