I don't think it's an "us versus them" situation, or that they are taking jobs, it's just a telling situation when PHC's rosters are shrinking dramatically.

Although I did hear that 2.0 might include smaller rosters and increased calls from PHC's. Just what the members have been asking for, more calls!

Ive had members return to my roster because there was not a ltih home caremanager available in their area. This program has also shrunk, its not growing like telephonic employees think.... Its not them taking away our jobs... Its the program condensing all the way around....

They are not surprising, correct, but they are thinning out rosters, which understandably creates unease at a time with no new enrollments. They make sense, they just deplete rosters along with disenrollments.

The LTIH alerts are not surprising, they said a few months ago they were expanding home care options, with more fluidity with how long the care managers there saw them or called them, theres going to be a push from telephonic support to home based support over the next year or so.

Poster below, I too am getting an unprecedented number of LTIH alerts. I guess I'm just expecting another round, so watching my roster dwindle down rapidly is not surprising.

Let's stop and look at the reality of all of this. People's lives are being affected their livelihood, their families and the part that we all forget are the members that we served that depended on us so much. My heart is breaking in so many ways and lashing out at anyone is not answer. I pray for all that are leaving and I pray for all that are staying. I pray for the members that are depending on the help that we provide. So all of you who have contact with anyone that's impacted please show some empathy

Okay, enough with the debate about how to respond, it's every individual's prerogative how they want to respond. All adults. Stop telling people what they can and can't say.

Back to 100's point about moving members from PHC to nurses, are others getting an awfully high number of "offer LTIH" alerts these past few weeks? It's cleaning out my roster.

I understand you previous poster, but I don't interpret any posts on here as "doomsday," folks are just calling it like they see it. I understand your views but not everyone is on the same page.

There is increased frustration at this point, as expected, by those impacted and by those remaining. Don't let it stress you, not everyone will react to all this the same way.

So tired of people complaining about their jobs! Some of us like the job and some of us need the job. For those saying they wish it had been them, then you should have quit! It might have saved a spot for someone like me who appreciates what they have! Whether or not the role is going away, it would have prolonged the layoff for some of us who depend 100% on this job! Quit complaining or quit! Stop with the doomsday crap too! Put your crystal ball away and stop! We are all highly intelligent people! If you are the knower of all things then finding a new job should be a piece of cake

Don't kid yourselves, PHC's are on track to have minimal role in 2018 and on. If you doubt this, take another look at 2017 events thus far. Actions speak louder than words. What has actually happened - who is getting cut? It's no longer writing on the wall, just reality.

Many are quitting, poster below. They are finding something else first, but many are giving notice. Not sure how many PHC's will be left by end of this year but between layoffs and those leaving voluntarily, the role is definitely playing a smaller part at HAH.

Frankly. Those that want to leave...if you would just quit less people would be impacted. Some people actually want to stay and you are s---ing up a spot. So if you hate it here just quit. You are allowed. Then when they run numbers you will save someone a spot

@OZLDKMP-1qqw, +1. True #GOLD post.

It's awful for the people let go. It's awful for the people still onboard with job instability and current conditions. No winners here. Unless you are one of those executives cashing out millions in stocks. But if you are reading this post, you're not, and it's a hard time for all. Let's not take this out on each other. This is tough. Period.

Well yes, it is obvious there will be another reduction in force that will impact remaining PHC's, but I wouldn't be so quick to assume that those remaining won't believe leadership if they are told they are safe. Sometimes the Kool Aid is more appealing than reality. However, if you find yourself offering LTIH every day, closing members every day, never receiving "new members" but only transferred members from others impacted - if your day looks like this and you think you are "safe," then there is an element of delusion at play.

Everyone will believe what they want to believe until reality hits them. I would hope there would be less pressure on those accepting the reality to "be positive" or to avoid asking questions, because we need a little more reality and a lot less BS at this point. Calling people negative or chicken littles, etc., at this point does not change the reality.

I think it's pretty obvious there will be at least one more PHC layoff. We are just tidying things up for 2.0.

I don't think they will make any false "no more layoffs this year" promises this year - they know word gets around.

Although who knows, they have already destroyed any trust, so what to they have to lose by attempting another false sense of security. Not sure so many will fall for it at this point though.

There is also drug rehabs, school systems, the VA, private practice, Voc rehab, marketing, foster care, etc...lots of possibilities for licensed social workers, and some roles in theses places you don't need licensing....and yes, the pay is less, sine Humana pays over scale. Try indeed.com.

They needed to layoff for the declining numbers from the 100,000+ graduated members. That is this. Now with the live healthy Humana 2.0 and many members being moved there again will be such a large number of mbrs gone another layoff in very late October beginning of November is inevitable. Now opinion not fact then another will occur early 2018. That will give them time to get scale back and get where they need to be to try and sustain hah and then if still viable layoffs will likely stop. A lot of those "moved" mbrs will be with nurses hence the ongoing current hiring of nurses. 💯

For those who are licensed clinical social workers (LCSW), have you tried applying to hospices or home health agencies? I know hospices in my area hire LCSW's with master's degrees. The start pay is 24.00 which is terrible for a master's prepared professional. They make visits to patient's homes, facilities such as SNFs and ALFs and even work in hospitals doing GIP visits. Hospices and home health companies also use "degreed professionals" (bachelor or master degree in any health-related or business field) for marketing-those people that show up at nurses' stations, hand out logo pens and beg for admissions. They make a mediocre salary too, but some places give bonuses for each admission they get. I think where I live social workers also work in schools in impoverished areas (we have a high homeless student population and SW's help with resources). Hospitals should be hiring social workers as case managers for discharge planning. It might all depend where you live too. In Florida, there is a program "Sunshine" something or other...they do case management and home visits similar to hospice/home health, but work for the state and get people things like a home aid 4 hours a day, for ex. through the state's Medicaid program. Check nursing homes too. The large ones will have one or two social workers for the whole building to facilitate discharges home and hospital admissions

💯 just to clarify, there will be more layoffs this year? Is that what you are saying? It's like a never ending roller coaster. Why don't they do it all at once? I have a back ground in business and even I 'm scratching my head over this!

💯 here.. I'm here to tell you the truth there were so many doubters and I knew something and I didn't want others blindsided. When I hadn't heard more I said that. Just like I'm saying don't question or wonder there is another layoff this year. Regardless of my source connection etc it is what it is. Stop being dramatic it's not personal. Most phcs came from some type of social service background where it's about helping. This is a corporate business the directors may not enjoy laying people off but they look at it differently and most social workers can't handle that. And yes I'm actually a LISW. So the 💯 haters can either cry and bash this post or put your big kid panties on and do what you need to do for sustainability in this ride we call life.

I understand that there are people upset that they are being laid off. I get the uncertainty about finding another job, etc. But I also know that changes are coming, and some of those changes sound like just more work added on to an already stressful workload. More reason for management to breathe down our necks and not pick over every little thing. So in some ways, yeah I do envy those that got the email. I'm just as worried about my future as those who are impacted this round.

The members on the disenrollment list who were not contacted and closed after two attempts, will be automatically closed on 9/30. They don't need us to close everyone before we're released.

I wonder if there will be early release or if they will want us to close these members first. I guess we will know all of that soon.

Please stop wishing to be laid off if you were not impacted. That is very disrespectful and rude. If you really mean it tell your coach that you would like to volunteer. If that isn't possible then shut up about wanting to go. People on here are hurting.

Yep. I have been with Humana many years and honestly received a big kick in the gut while on phone with a member . went through the transition from FCM to phc because we could not do our job/ no masters degree.. to this.. to be laid off. All I have faith in right now is God. Not Humana. I hope Bruce can live with himself and his $70 million. Knowing he laid off all these employees.
