Don't know how Gap has kept this out of the news, but Mid July they elminated positions in every store. The positions of Assistant GM and All Lead positions were cut. This is at least three positions if not more for every store. They are replaced with part-time lower paid grade employees. This really affects the merchandising side of the brand. Gaps will not be pretty for holiday!

This article was written over 10 years ago and reads like it was written 10 hours ago. This tells you that not only is the place suffering the same problems as it was a decade ago. The "new" leadership is actually trying the same things that didnt bail them out 10 years ago. What do they say about people that don't know their history? Gap will crash and burn.
Newsflash: They were never pretty. On any day of the year. Failure stinks from the head down. Art Peck knows this and won't fire himself so he fires management in the stores. He's so thoughtful that way. Merry Christmas!
