The nay sayers are those that have been at Dell their whole careers and don't understand two basic concepts. First that MD and his cronies don't give a damn about any employee, its all bottom line and his legacy at this point. MD is raping this company and will spin it out in 24 months declare victory and fade aware to his newly founded foundation. 2. Long term Dell types should be aware that being a Dell AE or SE is not looked at as a good thing by many companies, Dell is known as a commodity company with mediocre sales and se personnel who stay because though treated like barnyard animals they could in the past slide along at 80% goal attainment and still retain their jobs. Its no longer that way its not about build a better company its about getting to the spin out line, going public again and MD and his boys making a killing then bailing.

I have credible info on layoff in MRES. It's gonna happen in three waves in August, September and October. This is across sites and geographies. I have personally given a named list to my manager from my team. I know for sure other peers of mine have done the same. Directors and above have been given indirect messages. They will be clearly intimated for action a couple of days before the event. This is not the first time I have done layoffs in Dell and I know the protocol and drill pretty pretty well.

Nothing is FAKE. You are getting scared of being laid off. A lot of people will get laid off once they decide which products will be shut down for good.
