Just ask yourself the IOT question. Which is better at: Efficiency, cost, ease of use, the proliferation of use cases, and off the shelf solutions. ARM is king on all of these. Rigado or Ada Fruit anyone?

Doug is actually a good guy, but he toes the party line and doesn't make waves. He never had control over Quark or any other Tiny iA, so he never had a real chance of succeeding. But he's a Company Guy, so he'll put on a good face and run Automotive while BK runs it into the ground.

This really isn't new news - it follows other headlines from few weeks ago.
The author is asking the question, though, about whether the Quark CPU actually survives. Having seen the Quark roadmap change weekly for three years, and after the recent gutting of the Ireland IoT group, my answer would be an unequivocal No.
Intel NEVER had the guts to develop the Tiny iA concept. It didn't happen for Apple, and it sure won't happen for IoT. Intel will try to sell the concept that all IoT nodes need a local gateway (with Intel CPU, natch). Gonna be hard without McAfee security or lack of any further investment in WRS.
