No Back To School Inventory

So I just looked at the layouts for the back to school items for the fall which we will start setting out in August. There are only a few quads of merchandise. No aisles or even an aisle, just a few quads (four sided shelves). This can't be right can it? There is no way they can make it with only four quads of merchandise. In years past we had four quads of just pencil boxes. The end my truly be near

No Shippers? I do believe that the vendor ships those items in the shippers so that they can be on the floor and have the advertising with the items. I'm pretty sure the vendors also stipulate in their contract that the items must be displayed in the shippers.

Or maybe it is like in years past that you take a picture and send to corporate and then take all the stuff out of the shipper and throw it on the shelf.

My store is starting to fill two BTS aisles. We're low volume, yet we move this product year after year.

If we cannot have any shippers, isn't that a violation of the vendor contract? I know in years past the vendors would send someone into the store to verify that the shippers were on the floor. How can this be allowed?

No displayers or shippers on the floor... that's carnal stupidity. The buyers ordered these items to come in shippers so that they could immediately go on the floor with as little manpower possible. Breaking them down and putting the product into counters is counterproductive and a waste.

As far as I can see, we DO have a lot of BTS merchandise piling up in our backroom. Unfortunately, not only do we not have enough associates to get it out very quickly, but our DM basically told us we're not allowed to have any fixtures (including quads) in midways or to use displayers of any kind, so that kind of eliminates a lot of potential shelf space.
