Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Yesterday I got an e-mail about August 31st layoffs. So Fidelity is having layoffs that is a fact. I am the last to hear anything, so no idea how many or whom.

Before we start speculating, it is probably wise to add actual facts to these posts. Clearly, former, disgruntled employees are checking this site. To add false information or to say things like, "it will be a blood bath", is not helpful. Do the best job you can and make yourself irreplaceable. If the worst happens down the road, then that is the way it is. It doesn't do anyone any good to make up information and stress everyone out. Best of luck to you all. If Fidelity can't make money and grow their business in this economy, then they have major issues. If that is the case, there are probably better jobs out there.

We had a number in my satellite office, i was one. All were higher paid professionals. I also was assured last month i was " a valued employee" and there was no reason to worry about being laid off.

I am hearing approx 8 % of total workforce, primarily business/reps. Tech cuts in next quarter .

I was laid off today and is part of an 8,000 job reduction action.

my wife just mentioned they are firing 4000 people from various departments at RANDOM!!!!

The rumors are true. I was notified today because I was going to be out tomorrow. I think it is going to be a blood bath!

I was the highest paid in my group and was "assured there is no issue with my performance"
