So the article that was posted on the motley fool apparently was seen by corporate as well. I saw an email from a district manager sharing the link to the article and screen shooting some of the pictures. In the email they wanted pictures of the shelves looking as if the stores are full with merchandise. I could only laugh at the extreme this company is going to try and save face with the general public. The email also was like they were going to find out which store it came from.

We have a whole cereal aisle that has one or two boxes of cereal in each spot along with cases of water. What a joke. Do they think they are fooling the customers?
Like two years ago, there were store managers in NJ reprimanded for removing entire aisles of counters because they no longer had 40 feet of paint, 40 feet of soft home-placemats and kitchen towels, 40 feet of sewing and fabric.... you get the picture. The counters were ordered to be put back up and what filled them? SPRING pastel colored totes and coleman coolers... in the winter.
Store managers should be empowered to run their stores as they see fit. Their removing counters that had no POGs or merchandise to fill them should have been seen as saving money. No excessive labor to scurry around and try to fill these counters and then detail around them. Besides, the big plastic boxes spaced one foot apart make it look like we can't fill the shelves.
