It seems that Intel's reign is about to end when it comes to chip sales. It is expected Samsung will report it's best yet quarter that will push it past Intel in revenue for the first time.
Anybody else finds this development utterly unsurprising?

Simply amazing how the worlds biggest semiconductor company for so any years and making so much money over the TSMC and Samsungs ended up squandering it all the last decade.

Unfortunately, the only way the employees will ever understand is when they are victims of layoffs. At least they will get their brains back and see just how long they have been one of the mindless clones.

I'm only surprised it took the market so long to realize and understand how weak Intel is and how terrible Brian Krzanich and the Board of Directors are. The senior leadership is a joke. I'm also surprised that the employees choose to ignore the facts and live inside the Intel "propaganda bubble" and read Circuit and believe what the leaders are telling them. Intel's day of reckoning is fast approaching.

There's a big difference (actually a couple):
1) BK does not have the trust or support of senior leaders, managers or rank and file, especially after ACT and the executive purges / Qualcomm replacements.
2) Success for Intel isn't just grind-it-out execution at this point. Better execution can't hurt but Intel needs to execute on the right strategy. And stick with it. Otherwise you're just whipping people to deliver on arbitrary, drop-dead deadlines...for projects that will be cancelled a couple of months later when the "strategy" changes again.

Unfortunately the challenges are stacking up in traditional markets and the new opportunities are longer term or not working as expected. Time Will Tell might also say time is pretty short as well.
