Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

WFRs continue leadership will be next

We all know WFRs continue to be a seemingly weekly occurrence. Notified Thursday out Friday - at least in the US. But the long game DXC is playing will hit leadership. As DXC moves to low cost locations - again speaking of the US, this will effectively centralize management of those people in those locations, so if certain leaders don't move on their own dime, or are not located specifically in a low cost location or Virginia, you will be phased out. Leaders seem to be unaware, or just plain ignorant to this, at least the "lifers" who have no experience outside of this company's many incarnations.

"delivery managers and fake "project managers /coordinators" are no longer required as they do not provide any value add whatsoever."

... nothing can be more true.. I know of a couple of senior project management staff who do absolutely nothing and basically housewifes, except that they have little or nothing to do at home as well.

Basically you get what you pay for, when the pay is cheap the quality of work is cheap as well.. over a period of time, customers have realized their folly and business revenues are down in various sections. Now the bloated management is still on the look out for laying off technical staff when the staff numbers have drastically fallen over a period of time.

The plus points of various Indian IT companies like Wipro, TCS, Infosys is that they realized tat middle level management viz delivery managers and fake "project managers /coordinators" are no longer required as they do not provide any value add whatsoever.

.. it will take time before DXC can realiza they need to follow suit.. DXC has a large management workforce and few workers

Haha that's what we said when HP got shoehorned into our accounts and client relationships. That was the beginning of the free fall into clusterfukc

The BIGGEST mistake HP did was purchase a company that would have been bankrupt within a year. We brought in unskilled, over-priced and lazy employees who made the rest of look bad.

HPE didn't buy EDS...HPI bought EDS.

It is happening now. 3 L6 leaders in my org recently WFR'd after they spent years off shoring their US team. Now reporting directly to L5.

I think it is a fair assessment of things - Lifers aka legacy EDS / GM bums / Pontiac mafia would be on the cutting block shortly (other than some who have already captured some plum jobs in the new org - read SVP titles ! .

Long live the legacy EDS and its cronyism.

One learned man asked Why did HPE even buy EDS for such a high price tag !
