Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Heads are rolling

Was not let go today but alarm bells have been ringing. Some key Senior Management stepped down about 6 months ago. Since then it has been nothing but red flags, "re-orgs" in Network and Security, IT budgets absolutely slashed, finance auditing assets, all contractors let go or converted, then hiring freeze and reqs cut. Today heads rolled, people who were very senior staff were let go, Directors, Senior Technical Specialists, and many more. Not exactly sure what is happening but it does not look good. Might be time to jump ship.

Originally from @NTbatNn-7dpp, figured it needed a thread of its own since it's fresh information relating to today.

Communication? What's that? We are preached at about the importance of communication and teamwork, but who here can attest to the notification of your lay-off with the beginning of an IM?

In my dept over 40 were let go and rumour has it more were let go. In my case they chose to keep several people with same skill set who were more recent hires and younger..which has me alarmed. Anyway 11 weeks per year of service and pays PTO balance.

This is just the beginning and no one is safe in any location. Expect to see the numbers in the thousands by year end-with cuts planned right up until November.

Over one hundred let go yesterday.

It is hard to know what is going on since no formal announcements or discussions get shared across teams. I know a few people who were let go recently. Does anyone have a sense of how many people got let go this past month? What is the severance package (if any) like?
