Manufacturing was moved from Dallas to Houston and like a fool I made the decision to go. Then a few months later I was let go after selling my home for a loss and purchasing a new one. Run forest run.

And these folks, if they accept a job offer or pay their dues through an internship, will get nothing because Weatherford is going to go bankrupt. Take a look at their balance sheet and go elsewhere.

Weatherford is one of the largest diversified upstream oilfield service companies in the world with a presence in more than 100 countries. Our products and services span the lifecycle of a well, including drilling, evaluation, completion, production and intervention.

Weatherford is currently recruiting graduates for manufacturing engineer traineeships in the US.

This 24-months program (NextGen Manufacturing Program) offers graduates exposure in the Oilfield Services environment and developmental opportunities to advance their technical skills through a progressive on the job rotational program. Participants will gain experience in key areas throughout Manufacturing including safety, quality, lean operations, production, materials management, inventory, logistics, procurement, strategy and finance through a series of rotations. Throughout these rotations, participants will also be provided key project deliverables, giving the opportunity to apply engineering fundamentals and showcase visibility.

In addition to the job rotations and real-time project assignments, graduates will be afforded important networking opportunities with Manufacturing business groups, internal customers, and suppliers. There will be mentoring and coaching initiatives led by organizational leaders in additional to technical skill development opportunities.

Upon successful program completion, participants will have attained a well-rounded knowledge base of the Manufacturing landscape within Weatherford; and, acquired essential skills for a permanent role within Manufacturing.

Depends on your experience level. Advancement within company is nonexistent and pay raises are rare. If you need verifyable experience and ok pay till you find something better it couldn't hurt. If you are looking for a career then there are better companies.

Ask for a couple dollars more than what they offer you, you won't get a raise and be stuck with what you negotiate with.

I feel so sorry and sad when I see people interview with WFT. They are so misled. I want so badly to wave them off. If you need a job then go for it. If you have opportunity elsewhere take that instead.
