Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Anadarco market cap under $28 billion and head to $25 billion fast!

We are in a death spiral and management is doing nothing to stop it! We need to sell assets and cut capital spending to minimum. If we don't do something soon it will be too late. Is anybody seeing or hearing about anything being done to keep us from going bankrupt and sold piece by piece?

Have y'all noticed that there has been NO good news or announcements of new finds, new projects, successes, etc since '16? There has been nothing but stock price declines, missed forecasts, lawsuits, explosions, etc. Man, am I glad to be gone!

It's called bleeding money because your lack of performers . And how you did your layoffs in 2016 and lost all of your real troopers that get things done. That's why you will fail. Good luck . I'm working for a company now that realizes it. Apc well let's say they did not stay the course with people that had there so called core values and did not look closer to there performers they just looked at the s---ups that did not perform. So I'm really sick of hearing how worried you all are. You lost the best because of your stupidity. So take your lumps and get over it. You guys left probably will have a hard time finding a job. Good luck to you all

'Trading up' while APC stock 'trades down'. Get out while you can folks, there's a much better world outside of APC.

Hiring is needed to support the increased drilling and infrastructure build-up. Also different locations and skills plays a role. Divested assets and strengthening presence in WTX.

The question then is not if we need to hire but is it appropriate to plan/execute this expansion and growth plans in this environment?

It seems the gamble? strategy? hope? is that the price will pick up, we are more efficient than others and end up stronger on the other side.

Assuming we can liquidate more assets and we have enough to cover for the low oil price period, as we build-up and transfer operations in the core areas, the approach may work well.

If on the other hand we have several more quarter losses then ....tough luck.

Yes, keep thinking that. Trading up? Really? You must be the poster who used the term "failing updwards". What's the ticker price now, sweet heart?

Clearly a supervisor. Probably Denver office.

Why does APC continue to hire new people to fill new positions while laying off their current employees at the same time?

It's "but" not "by".
