Sears pulls plug on RCA

Don't expect to see any more RCA televisions at Sears or Kmart. The company is no longer dealing with RCA's licensed manufacturer.

Kmart will instead be selling Poloroid branded televisions as a budget friendly option.

The company continues to sell Samsung and Seiki (Kenmore).

Walked into a Kmart and noticed all the clearance sale signs are gone. Most stuff signed at regular price.

Are we gearing up for the "Up to 70% Off " banners hanging outside ?

After ON Corporation started making the TVs instead of RCA, they became crap anyway. High failure rate, high return rate.

RCA is not what it used to be. I used to work electronics before being promoted to management and I remember the high number of returns on RCA versus the other brands, even Seiki and Upstar.

A lot of customers saw the poor picture quality of an RCA floor model (believe me, we've tried to adjust the brightness, contrast, etc with no luck) and crossed RCA off their list.

Surprisingly, Upstar was the absolute cheapest of the cheap brand yet customers didn't seem to have as many issues compared with RCA.

I predict a major appliance brand is next to bail on Sears.

Sears has been winding down their electronics department anyway, not a big deal even if it's true
