I for one am going to work this 3-day week-end to write a report for my supervisor and his manager to present to the ELT. Someone has to do something to save this company. I may be that someone. You may be that someone.

Some of y'all are a little harsh. This person has great intentions. Obviously, they simply haven't worked at COP or the corporate world in general long enough to realize the good deed will be punished.
your an idiot...
Save yourself and save the co, resign
One step closer to saving our company is getting rid of Bartlesville.
I hope you're serious and in a position to be successful. I've tried many times and been punished with lower ratings and coached that I ask too many questions. Maybe we should all be blunt and someone that can do something will listen. What's the worst that could happen? Layoff? I think many of us may prefer that over trudging along in the same ol' swampy ditch...
@1ktl - REALLY?
You are as green as a tomatoe. Go jump in a lake.
Love the initiative and fight, but what level are you? I'm not sure you're really aware of the harsh realities of this company and the lack of technical skills/ideas ever making it past the tall, tall, columns of management Best of luck and god speed, us worker bees are rooting for folks like you.
Lots of wishful thinking! Its not koolaid anymore, it's just delusional. Execs presented a case for raises for themselves to the board! They really think they're doing awesome. Until the board asks for resignations this ship won't change course.
Sadly, I think it's too late. There are simply too few members of the executive ranks and also mid to upper management that are receptive to your message. All the good managers were pushed out. The remaining only care about their jobs and the jobs of their buddies. The only thing left to do is plan your exit. Tough to do in this environment, so do your homework, wait for the right time, and try not to let them turn you into them meanwhile. Don't get infected. Pretend you're drinking the KoolAide, but pour it out when they're not looking. It's the only way to save your soul.
You're being too logical. You have to play the game. You will just be punished.
Run Forest - run. That is a valid alternative.
Are you stupid? Something Forest Gump would do.
The culture is wrong, the strategy is wrong and the assets are obsolete - BIG trouble at ConocoPhillips. The best strategy right now is to remove the corporate level and let each BU sink or swim on its own. Let smaller BU's club together along a theme - LNG, deepwater etc. Reset all employees - no favourites. Performance evaluations every three months and folks measured on these results only. No severance. Reset all salaries to market, no favourites.
Fire yourself with no pay. That will help. Thanks for doing that
Good luck my friend, I tried before I left but I still have too much stock to give up hope. The BOD are the ones that need to be told. You just cant keep putting Band-aids on this hemorrhaging patient with the same Quack doctors. If they really cared, they would compile a few of us recent retirees that still have a vested interest and let us be blunt.
I elected to take a package and moved on with a smile!
I am getting ready to resign
