Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Just wanted to share a positive piece of advice.

Retirement is better than this mess. Boy do I realize a lot about life, work and family now.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we have lost sight of dreaming and achieving our own purpose in life. Today we have bigger houses, but smaller families. Better technology, but worse connection. Fully-loaded cars, but empty churches. More education, but less common sense. We strive for peace, but violence is rampant. We have more kinds of food, but a greater spiritual hunger. We are quick to judge, but slow to love. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. Something is wrong, isn't it? This company is the epitome of whats wrong in corporate USA. HPE and DXC did not ruin me it made me a hell of a lot better. I see it on the outside. The people did not bring me down it was the management style and greed that did. I am living the dream and actually looking younger than i did last October. Hehehehehe I do feel for those stuck in that rut. Good Luck.

empty churches are a good thing. It's high time we turn to logic and reason, leaving dogmas behind.

I agree with the rest that you are saying.

I bet those deep philosophical thoughts won't even cross one's mind as along as we are engaged in the rat race with the company and trying to survive.

Happy for you OP !

Amen, Frogman!

Another way to put it is, in former days, "ethics" meant doing the right thing. Now, no more, often... Certainly not in the remnants of HP, and not in many parts of government. "Ethics" is now just another branch of "law", where we consult the "experts" to find the "loopholes". The "ethics code" did not specifically prohibit what I want to do, so I am free to mess other people over! Or, let's just go ahead and make that small tweak in our "ethics code", so that we can mess other people over!
