Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

More drama around networking sell. So the oracle rumor is true.

Would like to understand how Oracle has a interest in this ?

No drama. Old news. At the time the objection was filed, there still a (remote) chance that another company would bid. Not knowing who that may have been, Oracle simply wanted to be sure that their IP didn't end up with a competitor. Additionally, they are claiming that Avaya cannot unilaterally transfer the agreements to the new buyer without Oracle's consent. Now that Extreme is the only bidder and therefore the buyer, Oracle will remove their objection - although they may want a separate agreement and perhaps some additional money. It's always about money. This will not prevent the sale from completing.
