Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I begrudgingly drive into the office every single day.

I begrudgingly drive into the office every single day. No one on my team is at my site. None of my customers are in my state. This is a 100% waste of time, money and emissions driving into a site everyday. They want us all to quit or retire! That's the whole point. Then they can offshore all these roles to "low cost, emerging markets". America takes it up the p--p shute while Davey, Dairyass and the stockholders get rich. It's nothing but a huge wealth shift.

Honeyhell actively takes actions which lowers revenue, then turns around and complains about low revenue in every clown hall. Getting emails from the head clown talking nonsense about growth and increasing revenue. Want to grow the business? Here's some ideas to get us started.

  • Stop treating customers like crap

  • Stop treating employees like liabilities

  • Stop running the business like it's a bank

  • Start putting money into R&D

  • Start investing in people and maybe they will stay longer than 6 months.

Godspeed!

From the same WSJ article, at least IBM is offering help to move and even pay bump to go to New York. Not helping much, but once again Honeywell has shown how NOT to do this.

Not going to happen, and ultimately it is your choice to stay or go....there have been a lot of people leave over the past year or so, with many more on the cusp. If you stay, not really much room to complain....

I have had it with these incompetent Infosys robots. They are by far the worst people for customer service that I have ever worked with. They don't know SAP, they don't know how to get information, all they care about is closing cases. They will even close cases with no action taken. Customers have had it with Honeywell customer service too, which is probably why the ALT wants all of them to use the portal and "self serve"; because just like at McDonald's when the cashier's screw your order up, it's just easier to do it yourself. Customers hate doing business with us but hey, at least those labor rates are really low!!

Time to leave this sinking ship. It will only get worse and worse. The people at the top are incompetent.

It's clear that Honeywell has taken anyone who knows anything about lean, particularly the value of co-located teams, lined them up against a wall and shot them. I, too, have to come in to the Tempe facility so I can work with "teams" comprised of people in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Florida, Minnesota and occasionally/rarely someone from Arizona. Most have been with the company less than 3 years (months, sometimes) and don't know squat about what we do here. But, boy are their labor rates low.

This trend began when Bossidy declared that product knowledge wasn't necessary for managers, so now I guess they've decided it isn't necessary for anyone.

IBM actually started cutting work from home several years ago in some departments. I had friends impacted over2 years ago. IBM got what they wanted sort of. The older workers left. They also got something they didn't want, younger people left. And those who stayed now only work 40 hours and do not take any calls from home. So India meetings are always USA time zone friendly.

With a tiny difference ... ibm says " we are investing heavily in new facilities, tools and contemporary work spaces for these teams.”. Honeywell thinks a few million spread across dozens of sites is investment. Our buildings are health hazards with mold visible in most areas. Not just present, visibly growing on walls and floors.

IBM is reversing decades long policies as a champion of the work-from-home concept and calling employees back to the office. (from today's Wall Street Journal).
