and Sabre continues to cut investment spending approval during the annual strategy meetings and push back on product management to find an airline partner to co-fund the enhancement engineering requests. And few are ever found leading to the continuation of aged technology and lost sales as airlines continue to jump ship.

Sabre got itself stuck in a cycle that it cannot get out of now, And most of the executives who brought it on have recently left or are about to be pushed out.

Better Late than Never, Sabre has to improve the technology, add new features in the product by investing money, instead of waiting for demand/customers to ask.

Amadeus creates product and then sell to customers but Sabre first wait for customers to ask new features and then take its own sweet time to develop and deploy. This is were Sabre is lacking behind as per my point of view.

Copa didn't "postpone" their migration. They cancelled the contract. They aren't taking Sabre at all.

Interesting article that really brings to light many of Sabre issues - foremost their lack of investment in product. For years during the Spring strategic investment planning sessions, Sabre executives have denied or largely ignored requests for investment dollars to bring various programs up to date. And now those decisions are coming back to roost.

Time and time again airlines have been dismissing Sabre solutions because of their old technology and inefficient and cumbersome user interfaces. Competitors are thriving in these areas, taking prospects away and gaining footholds into many airline accounts where they have never had wins before.

Is it too late for Sabre to regain confidence?
