Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

NO BODY LEFT TO GET LAID OFF? NO, NO, HELL NO! HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES FOR NEXT LAYOFFS.

  • Useless executives - There are just too MANY.

  • SETC management - Another example of useless management

  • Managers with less than 5 people in their reporting lines - Just not needed

  • Managers trying to look busy by tossing papers - There are still many who are just checking schedules

  • SDR employees protected with no specific reason - SDR is a money-s---ing organization that is ridiculously well-protected.

Anything else?

I quit slb before the downturn and I checked this site once when I was curious about how things were, saw some funny gossip and for that I look here every once in a while. I was curious about some former colleagues so I got on linked in to see who ended up where. Outside of field personnel all of the people I thought were useless are still employed at slb except for 1 former maintenance supervisor. I was fairly surprised by that.

no shortage of managers with 0 or 1 person in reporting line. I've seen reporting lines of 1-1-1. How has that ever made sense?
