Occurs to me that we could lop off the entire GP organization, and out here in the real world, their absence wouldn't be noticed...although the unnecessary G&A drain from our corporate bottom line would definitely be noticed...but very much in the positive direction.

Sell your COP stock ASAP! It's fng worthless...wrench-turner @ wellhead-level +2 doesn't have the slightest fng clue what goes on in daily business...which is a pretty good indicator of their necessity to the bottom line. And yet, they remain on the payroll to this very day, highest paid among us...and most likely still will be, after the next, inevitable, round of layoffs upon completion of the asset divestitures.
