Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Bettering People's Lives?

Sure, with the exception of those of us in the Marcellus Business Unit who are going to be shown the door so Noble can pay for its bad business decisions elsewhere. Great business plan.

GW is COO, so A&D should fall under his responsibility. The former COO is now CEO. Sterling record for the both of them, eh? CFO Cue Ball just stands back and collects his millions.

GW is the "brain child" behind most of these great A&D ideas

Noble has made so many "bad business decisions". Its truly run by a group amateurs. Blessed by an incompetent BOD.

There is very little knowledge or skilland no integrity in title and DO. One exception maybe

I'm sorry but the MBU should have been shut down long ago. With no drilling schedule, keeping that many people to do busy work is ridiculous. I feel bad those employees because now it's time for them to go back to the real world.

The people still working at Noble don't have better lives. The people who have left Noble do have better lives.

I'll weigh in on that one. Yes, they can be vicious and malevolent. But HR at least in Houston has a history of extreme laziness. I don't know the new "director" but if she is not lazy, then she is the exception. SVP, benefits fellow, layoff lady, and previous payroll lady . ROJ.

HR is not lazy but there is a real mean streak in most of them which stirs up trouble where there was none. False reports or enhanced of employees saying things they didn't say or taking things out of context. Their friends could murder and steal with no repercussions but if they decide they didn't like you or where you came from, you are placed on their road to hell without doing anything wrong.

in reply to the HR comments. The HR group has been really bad, but the new compensation director exhibits high energy and works as though everything should be finished right now. Maybe she can breathe life into this otherwise moribund group.

it's been a while since I worked with MBU, but land people who worked with me were not lazy. They could "go rogue" sometimes, but they were definitely not lazy. I agree with previous comment about HR.

Except for maybe 1-2 in land, all are lazy and haughty

The only people associated with Noble Energy who have "better lives" is the incompetent senior management team. Not the shareholders, not the employees, not the communities where they operate. They keep getting raises and huge bonuses for running what was once a solid company into the tank.

Not so fast my friend! Land is pretty lazy and useless. Especially the land folks I work with here in Canonsburg!

HR in all of Noble is the worst. Mostly because they are LAZY. The biggest group of do-nothings in the company. It's been that way for years.

Those who know whee the bodies are buried or are too dense to know what to do will go to Houston.

I seen one poster said flunkies from other producers and that's spot on. Plus the HR department was and is terrible dealing with D.V. is a joke.

Also brought a couple over from Chesapeake. Overpaid and very inflated egos with that lot.

We brought on some ex range guys, hopefully they aren't getting offers. I also agree with no HR people.

There are exactly three people in all of Canonsburg worth keeping but none of them are managers and they won't go to the new company. Noble will move several managers to Houston to bolster their own incompetence.

Truer words have never been spoken! I know I won't miss the ridiculous amount of meetings where nothing was ever accomplished, time was wasted, and we had to listen to those in charge not hold people accountable for not getting work done nor themselves.

Attention HG Energy: hire the do-ers!

So true. HR not good. But the real fat that needs trimmed are the overpaid and incompetent managers and those that are paid like managers. You know who they are. hopefully HG is monitoring this website. They need to do their homework on these people.

I sure hope our HR people end up with no offer, they are the worst.

Parkersburg WV is only about a 2 hour drive from canonsburg. That's not bad. I can see people commuting if offered a job. Of course, the new outfit won't need everyone, but they will need some folks to help with the increased workload. Managers most likely won't be managers if kept. Hard to say about pay cuts. Noble is a big outfit that pays high. This company is a small one that no one has ever heard of.

Buyer is HG Energy of Parkersburg, WV. Likely won't take any people above well tender, close to the wellhead. About 80+ will lose jobs.

How is it going to work with the undisclosed buyer? Are they taking y'all, or just part? Just asking
