Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

intel not a easy place to Manage

I am a Sr Intel Director. I went to a Tier 1 school, been a Engineer fir 18 years. Have to say the quality of Engineers has gone down dramatically at Intel we hire Jr. College or OSU grad Tech promote them to Jr. ENGINEERS they can do monkey work but never really understand process or design. On top the Average US born engineer has huge baggage a few ex wives, drug problem, several step kids they really only wotk 18 to 20 hours a week.

It's depressing the low level of engagement we get from our US staff

Imagine you're an RCG from a good school.

You have Google with all of their perks knocking on your door.

Facebook is hitting you up with a great stock package and a youthful campus.

Don't forget Apple and their spaceship campus.

100 different startups with their own unique perks and meaningful work.

Then you have Intel - the soul killing cube farm with no windows and dank air. Not to mention the dinosaur tech you will have to work on. You can hone your monkey script writing skills.

Who is seriously considering Intel to start their career in technology? What a joke. Intel will only attract the losers who couldn't make it elsewhere.

This what happens when there are H1Bs and ex-H1Bs managing the company with an average Joe at the top

Wow, OP can hardly spell three words in a row correctly, but claims he went to a tier 1 school.

(Literally) smells like some desi trying to inflate his importance.

Good engineers don't work at Intel.

Intel is like plan-b or plan-c for real talent.

Perhaps they are not motivated due to the poor leadership -- not to mention "tier

1-educated" poor spelling -- exhibited by "Senior Leaders" such as yourself.

Ha 20% of my folks do 80% of the work in my group. Guess what the 80% are worthless, pains. Give 5 sr guys and the rest recent grads. We will rule.
