I noticed on my severance paperwork that the form with my name, employee ID, etc was created on May 17, 2017...so apparently someone knew I was going to be laid off in a month late. I was also being given hints by my supervisor about having a backup plan.
Anyone know the criteria for getting laid off? I was probably one of the lower paid corporate associates in the whole company, no one else did my job when I took time off. I can't see how cutting out my position saved them a whole lot of money.
Also, who makes the final decision on a single individual? HR? Your manager? Someone higher up? Is your manager told to pick someone arbitrarily? Just curious.
