So TRUE!!

The problem is that graduating with a PLM doesn't make you a landman any more than graduating with a chemistry degree makes you a chemist. They've never had to do 99% of what they read in school and you can't train them to do it in a glass office building right off I-45. The land department, other than the highest ranking guys, should have been based in Conway, PA, WV, etc... Of course, that problem isn't unique to SWN.
I wish Jim all the best. He'll like being back in OKC.
This is true..we have a lot of inexperienced staff without skill set and knowledge base to do job correctly and effectively. Fortunately, we still use contract people but DON'T treat them right.
The truly sad thing is 90% of the young landmen he hired out of school were given free rides and were never mentored sufficiently. Wouldn't give 2 cents for most of them. Sooner boys given preferential treatment. Now they can't hide behind Dewbre's coat tails. Dewbre was a good guy, just delusional....
Ya know ; I'm actually happy for the guy --- definitely had a hand in early swn success .. may have stayed too long , but good for him
Chesapeake and swn have some similarities; but I think chk is being more aggressive in retooling their company .. lawyler greater than way !!
It does have the potential to weaken swn a little bit; while a bit odd- he did cut a pretty good position in the industry and now swn will be increasingly isolated
This does not indicate he retired
"Chesapeake Energy hires Jim Dewbre
Jim Dewbre has been named vice president of land at Chesapeake Energy Corp., the Oklahoma City-based oil and natural gas company said Thursday. Dewbre is replacing Kirk Ary, who is retiring after 37 years in the industry."
From Newsok.com
Let's lay off the guy, bigger picture if he retired..why? And what is outlook for those remaining since we are not seeking new ventures, little drilling and/or leasing and no more acquisitions.
"There would be no Fayetteville, no Marcellus and no WV without his efforts." Not true.
He also hired more duds than studs.
Either way, good riddens! If you weren't OU alumni he over looked you...and as time has past, his significance has lessen at SWN. He never looked all that busy to me, but he was busy talking gossip about everyone else.
For the record he retired from SWN. He did not resign there is a huge difference
Hahahahahaha ha.
It is a huge loss. There would be no Fayetteville, no Marcellus and no WV without his efforts. He has been overworked and under appreciated for a long time. The Land Department will NEVER be the same!!!!
Name removed from webste but no press release like with CFO.
There may be a policy against specific names .... not a loss, I can't imagine that chk would take him, but there are a couple of connections
Seriously....Not a loss.
Why was yesterday's post with this news deleted???
"served as Senior Vice President of Land of Southwestern Energy Co. until April 25, 2017" Bloomberg website
They're dropping like flies. It reminds me of that Queen song - Another One Bites the Dust.
Another one! Who is next? When does Way get canned?
